The Kenako mall development is a joint Venture Between Shoprite Properties and Prima Group. The mall has been developed along the R75 – a link road between Uitenhage and Port Elizabeth. The area has high winds and a high water table. As such, many of the plant choices were limited however indigenous and water wise plant materials were utilized as much as possible with respect to the surrounding areas.
The banks of parking bays were enforced with strong evergreen trees to define the shopping center entrances, and to provide a wind break for clients.
