The Brief:
To create an urban forest on the road verge to screen the industrial buildings and the unsightly stormwater detention systems for the enjoyment of pedestrians and motorists; and to create sheltered recreational areas within the huge Industrial Scale Distribution Centre to be used and enjoyed by the staff.
The Concept:
Due to the fact that the distrubution centre was composed of many disparrot buildings it was deemed nessasary to limit the variety of trees to ensure a strong cohesion of greenery linking the site into one entity.
The Challenge:
The existing soils were difficient in organic material and needed a broad spectrum of fertilisers to ensure proper horticultural growth.
The Implementation:
Due diligence was applied to ensure that fencing and landscaping were integrated in the contours around the site.
Timing:
This project has been structured for completion in phases, to comensurate with the building program over 2 years.
